Food Pantry

Perishable and non perishable food, hygiene items, and household products as available are distributed to Mount Vernon residents twice per month on a Saturday. For the holidays (Christmas and Easter) there is a special distribution of toys and candy for the children. Distribution starts at 9:00 am and ends at 12:00 noon. 2026 Distribution dates are as follows:

April – 11th, 25th
May – 16th, 30th
June – 13th
July – 11th
August – 15th
September – 12th, 26th
October – 17th, 31st
November – 21st
December – 5th, 19th
Our partners for this ministry include Feeding Westchester, United Way, Episcopal Charities, The Young Professionals of Mount Vernon and many anonymous donors.

Annual Parish Picnic

We host our picnic in the parking lot of the church on the last Saturday in June. For 2026, the picnic is scheduled for 11:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday , June 27th, 2026.

Community Day

Annual Our Community Day is our way of celebrating with our Community. On the first Saturday in August we have a day of fun centered around distribution of school supplies. There is music, food, story telling, face painting, clowns, a magic show and balloon animals guaranteed to make the children smile.

COMMUNITY DAY 2026 is scheduled for Saturday, August 1st 2026. School supplies distribution starts at 11:00am.

Scholarship

Our Scholarship Committee awards at least one scholarship to a graduating High School senior each year. Applications are due by March 31st each year. Please email AscensionMountVernon@gmail.com for details.

Scholarship awards are presented during worship service on a designated Sunday in June.
